Privacy Policy — Deal Curators

This policy explains what we collect when you use dealcurators.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account info — your email address and authentication details, handled through our auth provider (Clerk). Sign-in is by email or Google.
• Affiliate identifiers — the affiliate/publisher IDs you enter (e.g., your Impact publisher ID, CJ PID, eBay campaign ID) so we can tag your links. These are public identifiers that appear in tracked links.
• Payment info — when you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not receive or store your full card number; we store a Stripe customer/ subscription reference, your plan, and billing status.
• Support and communications — anything you send us directly.

• Usage data — how you interact with the dashboard and deals (e.g., pages viewed, filters, deals opened), and basic device/log data.
• Email engagement — whether digest emails are delivered, opened, or clicked, via our email provider (Resend), and your subscribe/unsubscribe state.
• Cookies — see §5.

Amazon (Pro plan): if you connect an Amazon Associates account, you authorize it through Amazon's own OAuth. Amazon data is used only to serve your own account and is not pooled, cached, or shared across users.

2. How we use information

To provide and operate the Service (surface deals, tag links with the correct affiliate IDs, run your dashboard); to send the daily deal digest and service messages; to process subscriptions and billing; to provide support; to secure, maintain, and improve the Service; and to comply with law.

3. Email and marketing

The daily deal digest is a core part of the Free experience. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and a one-click list-unsubscribe option; unsubscribing sets your account to opted-out and stops the digest. We still send necessary transactional/account messages (e.g., billing). Our commercial email includes our physical mailing address as required by the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act.

4. How we share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it with:

• Service providers (subprocessors) who run the Service on our behalf, under contract:
  • Clerk — authentication.
  • Supabase — database and hosting of application data (your account record, affiliate IDs, subscription status, and digest preference).
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Resend — sending the daily digest and service email, and measuring email engagement.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Inngest — scheduled jobs; it runs the deal pollers and the daily digest broadcast and, in doing so, processes recipient account identifiers.
  • Upstash — caching and rate limiting (may process identifiers such as your user ID or IP address to protect the Service).
  • Sentry — error monitoring; receives your Clerk user ID and request metadata to help us detect and fix problems. It does not receive your email address.
• Retail deal data — we obtain deal information from retailers' and providers' official APIs and feeds (including Keepa for Amazon deal discovery). These sources provide product data to us and do not receive your personal information.
• Affiliate networks and retailers — affiliate identifiers and clicks flow to the relevant networks (Impact, CJ Affiliate, eBay Partner Network, Amazon Associates) as an inherent part of affiliate tracking.
• Legal / safety — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
• Business transfer — in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy.

(We keep this subprocessor list current and update it when the stack changes.)

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to run the Service — primarily for authentication, security, and remembering your preferences. We do not use them for cross-site advertising. If we later add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we'll update this policy and, where required, provide a cookie notice and choices.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After you delete your account we remove or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, billing and tax records) to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. These may include rights under the California CCPA/CPRA, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, and, for individuals in the EU/UK, the GDPR/UK GDPR. You can exercise any of these rights, or unsubscribe from the digest at any time, by emailing privacy@dealcurators.com; we'll verify your request as required by law. You can also unsubscribe directly using the link in any digest email.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (including platform-level encryption at rest and access controls), but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children

The Service is for adults (18+) and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. International users

We operate from the United States; if you use the Service from elsewhere, you consent to processing in the U.S.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; we'll post the new version with an updated effective date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice.
